Welcome Back, WolfPACK!
Principal’s Message - From Dr. Ruiz:
Dear Lemon Grove Academy Middle School Community,
I am thrilled to begin the 2024-2025 school year with you at Lemon Grove Academy Middle. Our teachers, staff, and I eagerly anticipate welcoming our 7th-grade scholars and seeing our 8th-grade scholars return to classrooms filled with learning and hallways filled with laughter. Collaboration with you is essential to supporting our scholars emotionally and academically as they embark on their middle school journey. This year, we are placing a special emphasis on ownership of one's own education. We want our scholars to challenge themselves to go beyond what they think they are capable of achieving. Each of you possesses unique strengths, and we aim to leverage these strengths while identifying and addressing our weaknesses to foster growth. Our top priority is scholars’ safety, coupled with a school-wide focus on respect, modeled by our core values of being Persistent, Authentic, Courageous, and Kind.
Respect at our school means valuing others and practicing self-respect. Scholars will be encouraged to recognize their self-worth and build confidence to achieve their goals. We will maintain high expectations for all scholars, presenting rigorous academic concepts in reading and math. Our goal is to use higher-level thinking questions and inquiry-based activities to help our scholars develop a deeper understanding of content. With a scholar-centered approach, we aim to increase academic rigor through our new CTE Pathways and Intervention classes, reduce behaviors that negatively impact school culture, and have fun together.
Mission in Action:
Our mission is to provide a rigorous, safe, and nurturing environment that paves the way for our scholars' success. We are committed to equipping each scholar with the tools needed to excel in their future endeavors. By fostering lifelong learning, we aim to cultivate academic excellence and a profound sense of empathy and kindness that will guide our scholars in positively impacting others' lives.
Turning Vision into Reality:
At LGA Middle, our vision emphasizes equal opportunity for every scholar. We plan to bring this vision to life by fostering an environment that embraces diversity and encourages all scholars to succeed. We believe in preparing our scholars for their future, whether through college or career pathways, by nurturing their critical thinking skills, encouraging active community engagement, and instilling a passion for continuous learning.
Prioritizing Holistic Growth:
To achieve our goals, we are dedicated to prioritizing both academic excellence and the social-emotional well-being of our scholars. We understand that a well-rounded education extends beyond the classroom, and we are committed to creating an environment that supports personal growth and development.
Celebrating Progress:
Throughout this journey, we will celebrate each scholar's accomplishments, no matter how big or small. Every step forward is a triumph worth acknowledging, and we are determined to create a culture of appreciation and encouragement within our school.
In collaboration with our dedicated staff, engaged parents, and the broader community, we are excited to lead LGAM towards a future where our mission and vision become tangible realities. Together, as a community, we will empower our scholars to shape their futures with confidence, compassion, and purpose!
